14" GERMAN CARETTE LIMOUSINE CAR WIND UP TIN TOY DRIVER
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to offer this week, from an outstanding private collection, an ultra rare and highly collectible antique ca.
1910-15 German Georges Carette large limousine wind-up lithographed tin toy car.
Done in white and green; wind-up mechanism with reverse and braking levers; opening side doors; beveled glass windscreen; opening doors with lock mechanism into the passenger compartment area; seated driver on simulated upholstered seat, nickel-plated head lamps; spoke tin wheels; lithographed running boards and front grill.
Front wheels have two different positions ~ 1) the limo goes straightahead and 2) the limo turns to the right.
The car goes forward and back.
Carette & Co (Carette & cie) established in 1886 by a Frenchman, George Carette (1861-1954) and based in Nuremberg, Germany.
Measures: 14" long.
Excellent working condition; not much play with it.
Very good cosmetically with minor litho wear.
Comes with a key.
