1916 BERGMANN 16" SIMON HALBIG FRENCH BISQUE HEAD DOLL
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to offer this week, from an outstanding private collection...
C. M. Bergmann operated a doll company in Waltershausen, Germany from 1888 till they went bankrupt in 1931.
They specialized in composition ball-jointed bodies with a bisque head supplied from other manufacturers (Armand Marseilles, Alt Beck & Gottschalck, Simon & Halbig, etc) They also made kid bodied dolls and were well known for their character babies.
Their dolls were distributed in the United States by Louis Wolf, who also registered several of their trademarks for them; Baby Belle, Cinderella Baby, Columbia and Eleonore.
Bergmann dolls came in sizes from 10" to 42" tall.
Ladies and Gents, here is one truly amazing original Simon & Halbig doll from C.M. Bergmann factory, dated and produced in 1916.
Doll has Bisque head with makers markings on back C. M. Bergmann Waltershausen 1916.
Doll has been given much love and care, her eyes are twinkling up and down; mechanism is excellent working, she has nice teeth in open mouth.
Composition body is fully jointed and is in excellent working condition.
Doll has no repair, no damages, no chips or cracks.
Condition: excellent for its age.
Measures: 16"tall.
Doll needs a new home and friends to take care for her!
